Qualifications

Welcome to the WOTAA list of TA qualifications. We are aware that there are many different TA qualifications around the world and our hope is that we can establish a database showing the various options. The database below shows the information provided so far. If you run a TA qualification, please click here if you would like to add the details. If you have a TA qualification that is not listed, please encourage whichever organisation provided it to add their own entry. There is no charge for making an entry, although we are very appreciative if awarding bodies, and anyone accessing this information, makes a donation towards the running costs of WOTAA.

You will see in the database below that we have selected some columns that we hope will provide you with enough initial information to know whether you want to click on the View button and find out more. We have chosen to display the awarding body, the name of the qualification (including its abbreviation), the fields of application for which it applies, and the hours requirements in terms of practice, training and supervision. There is also a button to click which will show you a brief description of the assessment process.

If you then click on the View button, you will have access to whatever further information the provider has included: the qualifications of the trainers, supervisors and assessors; whether the assessment processes include exams, portfolios, essays, presentations and/or recordings; any information about the requirements that candidates must have completed before they can begin the qualification process; and any information about associated qualifications that may be awarded (e.g. university degrees or non-TA professional certifications).
